The Proxima tethered closure provides a solution to enhance the recyclability of the closure while still offering consumers a convenient and comfortable drinking experience for cold fill and aseptic applications, including still water and functional drink.
The design of the closure features a special feature on the tamper-evident band that means once the band has been broken, the closure remains attached. When the bottle is opened for drinking or pouring, the closure is placed adjacent to the neck at a wide angle, thus ensuring that consumer convenience in not compromised in any way but enabling easy reclosing of the bottle.
This solution meets two important sustainability benefits. Because the closure remains with the bottle and is not thrown away at any time, recycling rates for the closures can be greatly increased. Equally important, keeping the closure on the bottle avoids the danger of littering and unnecessary plastic waste when closures are carelessly or thoughtlessly discarded.

Thanks to Amcor’s groundbreaking new clear anti-grease film, beef jerky and other meat snacks can power up shelf appeal and gain a competitive advantage. The breakthrough formula prevents grease droplets and smears from appearing on the package surface, and eliminates “scratched” windows caused by fatty build-ups in the jerky. As a result, brands can significantly enlarge clear product windows, unleashing design possibilities. Because the grease is managed, jerky snacks look leaner, healthier and more delicious.
The capsule weight is an important product quality factor in pharmaceuticals to ensure the correct dosing of the agent during application to the consumer. The capsule weight is either verified directly after the capsule filling machine or/and directly before packaging.
The conventional, current approach:
Capsule weight checkers are typically large machines occupying a substantial share of the fab floor space. Conventional weight checkers are based on multiple parallel mechanical weighing cells to achieve the required capsule throughput. Those mechanical cells are sensitive to any kind of vibrations and require a short moment of no movement by the capsules to measure. The vibration sensitivity prohibits the use of such systems close to fast moving line elements or the integration into the filling machine itself.
The innovative, microwave based approach:
All those disadvantages can be mitigated with a weight checker based on microwave technology. A single channel can handle up to 50,000 capsules per hour in a compact stackable form factor while the capsules can be characterized mid movement. This allows to get rid of an even channel distribution system in most cases or at least simplifies a 10 channel distribution to a 2 channel system. Additionally there is no need for vibration decoupling allowing for the integration into the filling or packaging machine minimizing the required fab floor space.
Amcor’s High-barrier pouchstock with up to 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. The materials provide high-quality graphics for excellent product recognition. This technology has a high degree of flexibility, optimum handling, and high throughput on packaging equipment. No PCR is present in the product contact sealant film. The PCR is restricted to the exterior layer of the laminate. The material has FDA clearance.
Wave is a recyclable lock-up atmospheric dispenser, offering personal care manufacturers a more sustainable version of the popular pump format used for products such as liquid soaps, body lotions, shampoos and conditioners.
The dispenser is made from 100% polyolefin, with no metal parts, making it recyclable when paired with a PET bottle and where appropriate facilities exist. This has gained it a RecyClass A rating. It will also be available containing up to 70% post-consumer recycled resin (PCR) that will be independently evaluated by the U.S. FDA with a no objection letter (NOL) to be issued.
The number of components in its construction has been reduced to eight, compared to the 12 to 14 that are typically found in other versions.
For the growing personal care e-commerce market, the strength of construction has achieved ISTA6 certification when combined with Berry’s wide range of stock bottles.
The robust design means the dispenser can handle very viscous formulations to ensure consistent, reliable and accurate dosing, and it is showerproof. This makes it the ideal multifunctional solution for brand owners, which can be used across entire product ranges to simplify supply chains and provide economies of scale. It can also be adapted to different actuator styles and closure sizes. The dispenser’s locking system has the ability to operate in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions, providing consumer convenience and giving it greater flexibility in meeting the requirements of different filling lines.
