International Paper Sponsors PACK gives BACK™
Reston, Va.; July 15, 2014 — PACK EXPO owner and producer PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, is pleased to announce that International Paper is a Gold Sponsor of PACK gives BACK™. The Monday, Nov. 3, event features comedian Jay Leno (formerly of The Tonight Show) and will be held during PACK EXPO International and Pharma EXPO 2014 (Nov. 2–5; McCormick Place, Chicago).
A portion of ticket proceeds will support K9s For Warriors, a charitable organization dedicated to providing service dogs (primarily obtained through rescue organizations) to military veterans suffering from posttraumatic stress as a result of conflicts and war following 9/11. The 2013 debut edition of PACK gives BACK, which also benefited K9s for Warriors, raised $62,000.
PMMI President & CEO Charles D. Yuska says, “PACK gives BACK brings the packaging and processing community together as we support U.S. military veterans. We appreciate International Paper’s involvement in this event, which helps us to provide this support and funding to a well-deserving organization.”
The K9s for Warriors program lasts three weeks, providing dogs and their warriors time for bonding as well as training at the K9s for Warriors facility in Ponte Vedra, Fla. All services are provided at no charge to the warrior.
“International Paper is proud to support our veterans who have dedicated themselves to causes for freedom around the world. Partnering with PACK gives BACK is a great way for us to honor those veterans through the K9s for Warriors campaign,” said Doug Endicott, director, Marketing, International Paper.
PACK gives BACK will be held Nov. 3, in the Grand Ballroom (S-100) in the South Building of McCormick Place. The event begins with a reception at 4:30 p.m., and Leno will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale and will be available only to PACK EXPO International and Pharma EXPO 2014 registrants.
